Exterior Door Selection

Hi,

I need to replace the front door on my 90 year old mid-terraced house. The current one is wooden and is in really bad condition.

Can anyone suggest what type of door would maintain the character of the building? I'm not too sure about all the different types of doors...

What do the other houses in your terrace have? Do any have original doors? Are there other houses built during the same era that are in your neighborhood? That's the first place you need to look.

If not, then take a look at Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau styles (1917-ish).... but be guided more by the style of the terrace than sticking rigidly to what art history books say was chic on a specific date.
