Today's Escape to the Country on BBC1 showed 3 properties in North Norfolk, one of which was the house we lived in the Holy Land! Interesting to see how the house looks now--liked it.!!

OK, now this is going to come as a surprise to many of you, but I'm not very familiar with Narfuk. But I thought the Holy Land was a bit farther away....?

Just seen it on catch-up TV and got a big rush of nostalgia when they went into the garden and I glimpsed the corner where the very first PPUK get-together happened.

Nostalgia is haunting me like mad at the moment, especially as our successors had the £ to do the little bit of updating it so badly needed! We did not attempt to because there was not enough in the kitty at the time to do the house justice, which they have! Glad you have happy memories of the first PPUK get together, held in the last of the Norfolk evening sun of the day, and shared with our two four legged friends, and family!

Sounds like a blue plaque would be appropriate.

I was thinking more of a modest column - perhaps with a statue of a lime plasterer on top. Something along the lines of the Elvedon War Memorial.

Although I understand that many of the local genes for polydactylism, totipalmateness, or palmar hirsutedness are now so entrenched that they are probably dominant. You can take the boy out of Narfuk, but you can't take Narfuk out of the boy.... :wink:
