Lennon's and McCartney's childhood homes (both owned by the National Trust and hardly "under threat") have been listed (unlike Ringo Starr's birthplace, which EH turned down 18 months ago). I mean, they wrote some nice tunes n stuff, but really.

I would think listing these houses is rather more appropriate than listing a zebra crossing. :wink:

Mind you, I'm not great fan of EH at present, but that's a story for another time.

And grrrr to that silly listing, how about a positive verdict on BC, for which we've waited over a year to hear.

And why singers' achievements would merit more recognition than say, the person who invented the electric soldering iron ( who, incidentally, was Chris' grandfather, and that house isn't listed) is utterly beyond me.

Nothing as drastic as that. I'm sure we all like to complain about the bureaucracy and timescales for LBC but, to be fair, it's never really been a problem and both my applications have been completed within 8 weeks. I had presumed this was because the proposals had been developed in close conjunction with our very helpful and diligent CO.

So when a third application is almost wholly based on the ideas and design of said CO I think it's reasonable to assume a similarly smooth process. All I can say is that EH is far less responsive and it's slowing things down considerably - which didn't seem too bad back in December but with Spring about to spring I'm starting to get twitchy because this is supposed to be a big year for our project.

Does anyone know how I could drop our 'star' and just settle for a humble GII listing? :roll:

No, the house is lovely and very deserving of that star! But how annoying they are, why can't they be more efficient, decisive, faster? I just can't believe that these tarsome delays are due to them being overworked, all I see is them creating unnecessary, stupid, pointless tasks and bizarre prioritisations. Grrrrr.

Hope you get the thumbs up very soon - is it for the kitchen?
