Hi,
I've just done the Energy Trust's 'personalised' audit of our house - we came in at an 'E' rating! We were advised to fit 'modern efficient double glazing' which would save us about '£69' per year! Wow - so double glazing makes a huuuge difference then! How many years before payback?
It was so personalised it didn't ask about the size of the windows or the rooms, and estimated our heating costs at £1300 per year when its more like £800 - why didn't they ask. And how on earth can they justify all this fuss about double glazing? we couldn't wouldn't do it anyway as we are listed, although I suppose we could replace the 1980s single glazed with double on the back which came with the new extension before listing.
