( regardless if it's one at the time or all at once). We can only observe the aftermath of someone else's world ending but never our own.

There are a number of " Nostradamists", religious schools and various dubious sects followers in this world that if they were to be believed by the rest of the population every government would make class "A" drugs a compulsory necessity on par with tax. ( hold on !!!, I may be onto something here to beat the national deficit).
These " believers" baffle me, even if they are right in their assumptions :lol: :lol: ( the odds being more favourable in finding Elvis Presly riding Shergar in Atlantis, mind you), they cannot even collect any Knighthoods, medals or reap the financial rewads of their predictions because ( like the rest of us) they will be well and truly DEFUNCT.
So, what is the point for making predictions.
We all make some sort of predictions and "guessstimates" to help us to plan our daily llife but these " morons" make predictions without even contemplating the possibility of a CONTINGENCY PLAN.

On the contrary, when someone predicted the end of the world about 20 years ago, saying that the best place to wait for it was on top of some far-off mountain, it was discovered afterwards that over half of his followers who travelled there had bought return tickets! :lol:

I expect those that were persuaded to various unwise financial actions by the evangelist Harold Camping's predictions will resort to that most earthly of powers, the American legal system.

As with any project there has apparently been an unscheduled delay and the estimated time for completion of the "Rapture" is now October 21st, 5 months after the target date. Given that the initial construction only took 6 days and therefore renovations have been ongoing for millenia that doesn't seem unreasonable. Particularly as it took till the early 1930's to invent the kit-kat and team it with a reviving cup of tea, before that there were only unappealing wafers and soporific wine to fuel the work.

Well observed, Yer Ladyship. The esteemed Harold Camping clearly didn't factor that all-important assessment time into the demolition timetable. An additional five months sounds reasonable for a period of assessment, planning, chin-scratching and teeth-sucking to me. After all, it's a fairly complex job*.

And the said Mr Camping does look as though a solid diet of tea and Kit-Kat would do him a power of good:

* But not, of course, as complex as the wash-basin plumbing job that I'm currently assessing. I estimate a start date for the work sometime prior to Christmas (unless Mr Camping's predictions are correct).

Well observed, perhaps, Milady, but having blown all my life savings last week on wine, women and song in anticipation of the end of the world, my own particular building project is now going to suffer the consequences.

At least I've still got a few kit kats and a supply of tea to get me through to October, but you'll appreciate I'm not best pleased with Mr Camping's casual approach to pronouncements of such importance - one simply can't trust anyone these days.

Still, it was a hell of a party and, fortunately, my superinjunction remains in place so I'm hoping to keep my recent antics out of the tabloids and just lie low while it all blows over.

I suppose he might, but would I be able to trust him to deliver? His track record is not looking too impressive.
