In the process of stripping the walls of the porch (including removing all the old plaster) due to damp. As with the rest of the house it seems the previous owners just wall papered over everything, so wondering if the wallpaper I found underneath the rest could be original? Photo below shows the wallpaper, the pattern is in a metallic gold colour. Anyone want to guess a date for this style of paper? (the house was built around 1905).

I'm no kind of expert in this, so I've no idea whether the wallpaper is "original" (an ambiguous term - does it have to have been the very first form of interior decoration to qualify?). To my unqualified eye, however, it does look correct for the age of the house.
I am surprised at the apparent cack-handedness of the wallpaper hanging. The narrow vertical strip on the left is completely out of alignment with the rest of it. It also gives the impression of being a bit lighter in colour, despite being the same pattern.
Or is that just a trick of the light in the photo?

I think it's worth steaming off any scraps of old wallpaper found during decoration and keeping them as a record.

take them off carefully and cut into nice smaller shapes and frame them all up in 1 picture frame.

It's not a trick of the light - it appears to be a newer piece of wallpaper, can only assume it was a spare piece put up at a later date to cover something. Although as you say, odd that they made absolutely no attempt to line it up with the existing pattern.
Good idea about keeping some of the paper as a record, maybe I will put it in a frame with any other historical stuff of interest I find whilst I'm renovating the house. There's some old fireplace tiles in one of the downstairs rooms which I think are beyond repair so may put them in if original. Also finding plenty of smashed crockery in the rubble as I'm lifting an old concrete floor in the workshop. Will be lifting floorboards downstairs to fit insulation soon, hoping to find something fallen between the cracks!
