Wonderful! I have such affection for that part of Scotland (having spent many happy holidays there) and to see this house and its collection saved is a huge thrill.

A pity that the Snow child had to approach his TV piece on it in such banal manner. "Wow"...."a cool 6 million"... etc. I get so tired of being spoken to like a twelve-year-old.

I know, but it was good to get an inside view. Should be open this year.

(I do also get tired of HRH being put forward as its saviour, without the foundation stones of the campaign he would not have been able to put the roof on, but never mind! Same with Tyntesfield - the National Trsut gets all the glory, SAVE, which launched the campaign, gets a tiny bit of small print in the back of the guidebook... oh well.)
