Have noted under the stairs there is a fine layer of red dust similar to that we had a year or so ago when we had dry rot. We had it sorted - or so we thought!
No spores in the areas we had sorted but these spores are in close proxinity. Can't see any fruiting body and there isn't a damp smell tho there was a while ago but no more.
I am right in thinking that if there are spores the mushroom is effectively looking for somewhere else to germinate as it's not "happy" and isn't get the water it need to carry on growing? And if this is the case is there a need to find the sporing body? Can I safely presume I need to let any timber nearby dry out and then see what needs replacing?
I know I'm asking pretty similar questions to last time but just need some more reassurance!
Thanks
