Door Frame slanted? Or house subsidence? PLEASE, URGENT HELP NEEDED‼️

Hey all, so to much of everyone’s help to understanding what liabilities come with period properties, I’m back with an urgent request. I have put an offer on the house previously mentioned with the lintels, however upon closer examination, it’s noted that the brick door frame and the door installed aren’t aligned correctly. Why has this happened? I’m very anxious as I have put an offer in for the property which has been accepted, but this and the previous post are causing me to worry.

I would suggest this is historic settling of the brick mass. This often happens when the home was being built. I see no signs if a running crack in the brickwork and the brick arch seems to be level. I would suggest the original door was trimmed out to hide the discrepancy. The fellow who installed the new door wasn’t so skilled. Visually I think this could be remedied easily. Trim out the horizontal brick mold so it tapers against the brick leaving the trim parallel to the door.

Subsidence usually shows up with cracks. You can find pics on the internet. Don’t panic or worry. I would visit the house again and look around for typical subsidence cracks (some might be settling cracks). If you still want the house, get a structural survey. The surveyor isn’t qualified to actually say whether there is subsidence but they can give you a good idea. If you truly want to rule in/out subsidence, you need a structural engineer.
