Do two half ticks make a full one?

It would be good to to tick something off the list, at the moment all I've got is half done jobs. e.g.

Half a roof:

Hopefully the side will be done soon

And half the pointing
Yes, the ribbon pointing was mentioned almost a year ago, I'm glad to see the back of half of it and I think the stone will be as well.

Half done half to go

Never mind the blue ones they need to start selling kit kits or even kat kats.

Edit: Unless, of course, one half is still embedded and the other half removed!

Hear hear. I've never understood why people do that sort of ribbon pointing, the wall looks far, far better now.

I don't get it with ribbon pointing either. Was it a 50s thing? My Dad likes it. I spent a small fortune having all the ribbon pointing removed here and then re-pointed 'normally' but hardly anyone but me could understand what I'd made all the fuss about. But people stop and say how nice the cottage looks now but they still can't understand that it's things like that that make a big difference. I find very few people have an 'eye' for detail or the creativity to see how things can look once they are sorted. That's why I like all of you here because you have that 'eye'.

It's like old plaster. People can't see that the wibble wobble of old plaster is what gives a place character and if you plaster up all straight then it's not going to look the same. People, eh!

I don't think two half ticks make a whole one, but I know that seventeen tiny bits of ticks make a real mess. I'm surrounded by stacks of half-finished jobs and materials and sometimes I don't know what I'm supposed to be up to next.
Still, the house chose you as its owner because you have the tenacity to see these changes through, and it doesn't mind waiting, so throw the list away, never mind the ticks!

ref. The ribbon pointing, this close up might persuade some of it's nastiness.

It looks like about 10mm of the stone face has eroded in parts.

As for list I might take your advise on that Zebra. Either that or I could sub divide each job in to progressivly smaller parts eg:

• Repoint front
  • top half
    • chip out old
      • clean out
        • fill voids
          • re point
            tool in
            brush back

But then maybe I'd never finish writing the list
