Well, I've started to wax!! Never in a million years did I think I'd get to this stage with this house but I'm finally there 
Two things.....
One, Turpentine tastes foul!!! :lol: The house stinks of it, it's in my nose, it's all I can taste and even the dogs aren't impressed, preferring to stay outside rather than lounge in front of the Rayburn!! :roll: I can even smell it outside because the flue is drawing it out. This is after only two days and I have masses and masses of wood to do yet; loads of large beams, three sets of wardrobe doors, five room doors, Rayburn surround, bressumers etc. Maybe by the end of it I'll assume everything tastes of Turps!! :lol:
Two, I'm overwhelmed by the amount of wax I've used already. I've done the Rayburn surround twice and one coat on half of one of the wardrobes and I've used about 1/6 of a 5L tin. Does this sound like a lot? I'm using it luke warm so it's very liquid, allowing quite thin coats. Mind you, the wood is very dry, having no previous treatment at all. So, I'm wondering whether Liberon sell this stuff in bulk for less than the average £70 a tin. Anyone know?
