Do I need Rosin in my burnt sand mastic?

I noted some previous posts on using burnt sand mastic suggest using Rosin as an additive.

Do I need this, where can I get if from if yes, and what are the ratios for the mix (1 : 4 : ? oil:sand:rosin)?

It stops you falling on your butt when being a swan. (I think weight lifters use it too...)

Not much idea about it in mastic though... I'm sure we have discussed this before but my brain is addled and I acn't recall.

It helps it dry more quickly - or, rather, to set to the desired degree of stickiness.

It comes crushed up a bit for dancers and in large quantities.

The rosin tray - lovely smell.

I just used boiled linseed oil and sand and it worked a treat. Keep it simple!

I just put the sand in a bucket and stirred in the oil until I got something that looked about right, i.e. not to dry and crumbly and looked as though I'd be able to trowel it on. If you overdo the oil chuck a bit more sand in.

Brush a bit of oil onto the frame/wall joint before trowelling the mastic on to help it stick.

I used to buy ready made mastic in tubs, but found the DIY option cheaper and better.

Its possible to make it by putting wood scraps in the bottom of the oven. Gorgeous smell!
