Derelict property

I am looking for a bit of help I've found a derelict property that's been empty for more than 15 years and was wondering how I go about either findind the owner or finding out if it has one, and if it doesn't what happens next, if I want to be the owner.

Well it will have one, although tracking him/her down may not be simple!

First call - the Land Registry, see if it has a registered owner. Asking neighbours is useful, too.

Firstly, try and meet the postman, he will say whether he delivers mail there. Next check local library, voting lists, check with the local council about the rate payer, finally, look it up on the land registry site. You have to pay about £2-3 but you can then print off details.
