Hey all,
Newbie here working on the restoration of my first house. Recently stumbled upon PPUK and have been scrolling back through the archives.
Was looking for some advice on the stonework at the front of my property (c1850s Victorian back-to-back).
The original front door was lost a few years ago but I've managed to find a suitable leaded-glass replacement. I'm speaking to joiners now to look at getting the door fitted. The doorstep seems to be suffering from some quite bad delamination on one side and I'm wondering if I should get this repaired whilst the front door is out.
Normally I wouldn't think of replacing or changing something like this (the scullery door step has a beautiful curve from years of wear!) but I'm a little concerned about the degree of delamination and the risk of progressing further.
Would love to get some thoughts before I commit to any action!
