Authentic? Hmm. Is gaslighting actually legal these days, or has he recreated a Victorian home that was in the forefront of then-modern technology and was one of the relatively few Victorian houses to have electricity installed? T'would be ironic if, in trying to recreate the past, he has done so in a very futuristic manner for the times.

There are still some street gas lamps being used in London, not so sure about inside a house though. You would probably have to be gas safe to light one.

Nutcase! No, I really admire his attention to detail. Love the washing machine hidden behind a curtain though.

Each to their own, not my thing but if it makes him happy then why not. He does state that he doesn't always dress in Victorian garb, and he does have "mod cons" hidden in his house. I too admire the attention to detail.

Perhaps I'm a bit sad, but I really like it, the garden the look of the house, and the way it is decorated. I couldn't cope with the clutter everywhere though. Luckily there is a Mrs pigeon to keep me from getting too carried away.
