Dating building components

Is there a source for identifying the likely date of bits and pieces that can be found in my cottage. i.e.
"Cut nails" v handmade Blacksmiths nails.
Oval nails.
Cruciform section nails.
Round section nails with two flats leading to a point, round head with a motif on it. Used as screws to fix a hinge on!
Roofing felt.
Bitumen - hard as glass.
Plasterboard - not modern grey/ ivory, but grey cardboard like the backing sheet on an A4 pad.

You can still buy those today, so I don't know whether you have any hope of dating them.

I've found some of that in my house. I've been told that it's 1950's but I don't know how accurate that is.
