damp proofing and party walls

After doing breathable limecrete floors and special plaster etc in a listed terrace house, the neighboring basement flat has been bought by a buy-to-let landlord. A series of damp proofing companies came by and now after removing the internal plaster with the same tool, they are drilling into the party wall with a pneumatic drill, presumably ti inject damp-proofing stuff.
The building is listed. No applications have been made to building control or Conservation. I am a bit concerned that waterproofing their side of things may increase damp on my side.

Am I being over concerned?

I thought they were meant to write to you and get acceptance if work was being done on the Party Wall?

I would argue that the work that are undertaking falls under the Party Wall Act. You can go to court today and get an injunction to stop them. However, if it later transpires that for some reason you have got something wrong you may have to pay the court costs for the injunction (speak to a lawyer).

You can also go to the CO and see if they can get it stopped.

Most importantly, go next door and explain to the contractors that if by the nature of the work they are undertaking your property then suffers a problem they will be held fully liable.

Note that in drilling into the party wall without your consent (assuming they drill beyond the boundary line in the centre of the wall) they are trepassing.

I think the important message is speak to a lawyer asap.

I spoke to the builder. He thought the owner had permissions and had notified the neighbors in writing. Works have now stopped.

Got al letter from chartered surveyor saying works had stopped until they had been agreed with the conservation team.
And then yesterday morning I heard a load of noize in the next door garden. When I went out to look... a mature elderbery (I think) tree had gone. The fact that it is in a conservation area, or that it is in a listed building isn't going to bring that back. Such a sham. It was always full of birds, even in this season.

Grrrr. Infuriating - and the protection is so weak. However, if it was an elder, then it'll be "mature" again in about 5 years. The thing is a blasted weed!

Had they given the council six weeks notice of their intent to fell it? As it's in a conservation area, they should have.
