Damp in period buildings... West Sussex

Many local authorities have information about aspects of conservation, either online or as factsheets.

Came across this - while mostly OK I found the information about damp deeply worrying. Wonder what others think.

Check for rising damp and, if necessary, insert a new damp proof course (DPC) or inject a chemical treatment.
