Oh - one of the reasons given was the damage caused by the chainsawing...

Granada TV turned up to film again - which stopped the sawing for a while. People are gathering to demonstrate... may be on regional news tonight.

I'm gutted.

Yesterday I sent an e-mail to English Heritage's Man In London drawing attention to a number of things possibly not taken into account in the hasty decison not to list, added a great deal of 'new' information and asked for a review. I added links to video clips and pics of the site as it now stands. I suspect this makes history - doubt that an application for listing before this has had links to YouTube and blogs rather than academic research (I added some of that too I add).

That's been passed to the DCMS to decide. So I'm desperatel trying now to add more info and argue the case. As ever EH's decison is totally inconsistent with other cases I'm involved with which I may feel I have to draw to its attention! Grrrrr!!!!!

Meanwhile dismantling of Cyclone went on - with EH still being denied acces to the site.

Until yesterday - when finally Peter managed to have the NEWTS which many have over time spotted on site finally stop all work until their presence can be investigated!!!

Update - I have won the right to have the refusal to list reviewed. I've supplied the DCMS with a great deal of new information on this structure. This is a bit of a test case I have to say.

The sticking point now is the fact that once notified of the visit from EH to inspect the owners sent in the chainsaws. So it's partly destroyed.

Grrrr.
