We've got a 1860's cottage which at one time was one storey and in the 60's/70's was converted to two storeys. When this was done, arched windows were put in upstairs to "match" the original ones downstairs. Unfortunately, whoever did this chose to use a modern design, which although arched, are nothing like the originals. We are thinking about replacing these with custom made, wooden framed, double glazed ones, that match the design of the ones downstairs, as much as possible.
The reason we would like to have double glazing rather than single, is that upstairs is basically in the eaves of the house, and (for some reason not insulated in the conversion), therefore freezing, in Winter. As a designer I can come up with a design that would for all intents and purposes look the same as the ones below, from the outside, which would be a great improvement on what we have. However, I'm having no luck finding a company that could make these. We only need two. We live in Surrey. Has anyone got any ideas and also, any rough idea how much this would cost? Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Piccy attached of the orignal windows we want to copy.
