Whilst the scaffolding was up the chief thought it would be a good idea to get a liner put down the flue for a stove, I said it's never that simple. Well they turned up and I was right absolutely no way is a stove going in the lounge with that 60s stone fire surround as there isnt enough room anyway you try to get the flue angle joint in, fair enough so what I was trying to avoid will happen one day, smashing the front room to pieces. Anyway I said just stick the liner down whilst your here, they did and left me instructions but am sort of glad I am going to do it myself as they were not going to use a top clamp on the top plate to hold the flue..
Can anyone confirm if what I plan is right please. Top plate on followed by top clamp and protection sleeve trim the liner above the clamp flanch at a slight inward angle and then add chimney pot fhanch and finally add cowel to top of pot.
