Hi, I am new to the forum. I have a job which I have been putting off for years (literally) and I think the time has come to give it a go. I live in a Victorian House and the cornicing, whilst intact, is clogged up with years of repaintings so it just looks like bobbles. Does anyone know of a method or product which will help me strip it back fairly rapidly?

Yes, and again yes! It's one of the most satisfying jobs you can do.
Unfortunately it's also one of the messiest, so cover all important surfaces with plastic.
You use one of the poultice stripping systems (cue for that link to Strippers that I can never lay my hands on) and tackle about 2' a day**: day 1 - put poultice on the first 2', cover with the plastic provided.
day 2 - peel off the plastic and the poultice and spend several happy hours with a steamer and toothpicks getting the paint out of the crevices.
Then apply poultice to the next 2'.
Wear long rubber gloves and be careful not to get splashed - it burns.
** allow about a month !

I used something called Peelawa, which I got from a trade paint supplier. But posters here usually recommend Klingstrip or is it Clingstrip?)
