Hi all, wonder if anyone has any ideas how to combat condensation issue, which I'm fairly sure has been the actual root cause of a small dry rot outbreak in subfloor. House is 1910, stone outside with brick inner. I've noticed when it's very cold, the sandstone slab which is at the front door is absolutely dripping wet where it sits under the floor which Is in turn dripping into the joists. The aluminium bottom door thresher also gets wet with condensation and drips onto the floor. The house is a mid terrace with a bay window at the front which houses one air brick in the middle of the bay window. There is another air brick in the wall of the back room. I'm thinking it simply isn't providing enough fresh air.
I was thinking of sliding some dpc membrane in-between the slab and the joists but I think it will also just end up wet. Is there something I could paint on the slab, anti condensation paint etc? Or does it really just come down to more ventilation? Pictures attached. Thanks a lot.
