condensation rising through floor

over the past couple of days since we have had extreme temperatures I have noticed the downstairs quarry tile floors have patches of condensation over it,half of the house is underground and I presume the quarry tiled floors are laid on earth.I really dont want to take up the floors as they look perfect (apart from the condensation)is there anything I can do to lessen this?
eg. venting ?
I have a dehumidifier running but any help would be gratefully received x

If the air is humid and the floor is cool you will get condensation.

If it's a problem, push a dry mop over the floor a couple of times a day.

Unless the tiles are slippery, it's probably not a problem.

You are always welcome to come here and have a good old grumble about things. I'm not sure it will get rid of the damp patches ( Owain's dry mop suggestion sounds like a good one for that ) but it might make you feel better.

Dont worry about it.

the flooring is playing 'catch up'

when the floor temp. reaches nearer to the the air temp, then it will not condensate.

It happens 2 or 3 times a year to one of my floors.

It's also similar to what happens in early winter on the windows. The moisture levels in the house are still relatively high from the summer so when we have a sudden cold (dry) snap, we get masses of condensation on the cold windows. As the house slowly dries out, and the moisture levels inside start to equalise with the outside, it eases back. For this problem, you can't beat a Karcher Window Vac. The best bit of old house gadgetry I've ever owned .

The short answer I think is no, you can't do much about it. A mop sounds like the best plan.
