Concrete worktops

I am wondering about getting all grand designy and building a concrete worktop in the ensuite. It will be hardwearing / will not scratch and also because when I look at GD I wonder why they always build them out of grey cement and sand. Mine would be of white cement and crushed glass and then polished and I think should look lovely

Never done that before ... has anyone else any tips for me?

Another alternative is a glass worktop. I have seen some recycled glass ones on the internet which look stunning though a tad expensive

............ it will need to be reinforced and the unit carrying it will need to be very robust ....... as will your floor if the 'en-suite' is on the first floor.

I have seen a clear coloured ? material used for flooring which contains screws, bolts etc .... that looks good .... sort of like an industrial amber!
