Hello,
This is my first post.
We have recently bought a period property and would like to know if anyone have ever come across a concrete ( the aquivalent to early 1900 concrete ) floor on the first floor. We know the property's original floors would have been wooden, but they have been replaced with concrete on reeds we think, although we have also seen evidence of wire. The concrete floors in the loft space/ first floor of an old cottage dating back to around 1750. The floor has movement on it when you jump and it feels unsafe. Obviouly it does create insulation and sound proofing, however, I would like to remove the concrete and replace the floor.
Have you any experience or advise about this subject?
Obviouly if we go ahead, we will go through all the relevant planning consent etc.
Thank you very much .
