colouring limewash

Hello,
After finishing one of my ceilings I now want to give it a finish of limewash. I know I can, and in the past have, purchased ready coloured limewash at quite ridiculous cost and this time I want to add colour myself. Is there an "just off white" recipe? I guess I could experiment but if I could learn from someone else's experience I would be very appreciative. I have thought of adding week tea or perhaps a charcoal solution.

You can buy tints from Potmolens of Warminster, They are very helpful, you can then just add to your own homemade limewash.

Whilst never having made limewash myself I would consider from comments of others on here it is not a difficult process.

Yes making the lime wash is no problem I just need it to be very slightly yellowish/dirty.

I read somewhere that yellow ochre (in v. small quantities, of course) is just the thing for achieving that 'off-white' look.

They are very helpful at Potmolens but sadly have no website well worth talking too and then having a good play, I seem to remember the pots of tint go along way and cost around a fiver or less each.
