Hi
Our bedroom has a set of 3 stone mullion windows. The glass is double glazed, however the stone surrounds are obviously very cold.
Because of this they tend to gather condensation - not loads that you can see, but they are gnerally just a bit damp to the touch. Over a few months they tend to blacken with mould.
I'm keen to sort this for health (and energy saving) reasons but I'm unsure if there is a way, we like the windows so would prefer to keep them.
They don't open, so I was wondering about a single pane of glass over the front of them, with a small wooden frame around the side - ie secondary glazing? This would keep the room warmer, but I'm worried that in turn, the stone would be even colder and if any moisuture did get through more condensation would occur. So perhaps just ensureing it's well sealed?
Or any other ideas from people who have done this before?
(I don't have a pic, but similar to this, but older: http://www.traditionalstonesupplies.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Heads-Cills-Mullions-v2.jpg)
