ceramic or enamal draining board

Surely i can not be the only one to be appalled to find people asking £200 for an add on drainer to sit on top of a wooden worktop? Any suggestions or contacts ??? please otherwise my partner is spending 160 on a piece of ceramic the size of a small chopping board!

Ikea £3!!!!!!!!

I live in a workers cottage and I am a worker! they would have got a nice cheap one or even made one (I dont think you could even make it for £3) not a fancy one from some overpriced reclaimation yard etc.

Keep it real!!!! its only a drainer or get a dish washer

For as long as I could remember my mother used the removable tray off an old gas cooker - the flat one with a curved lip at the front and which sat under the burners or grill. One of these was always beside the sink as a draining board.
I inherited one of these and used it for many years.
There may still be some around - and a lot cheaper.

Of course, this correspondence could be a clue as to why they invented sinks with integral draining boards...
