Ceiling Repair?

Hello,
My ceiling has recently suffered some water damage along the bay window. The cause is some roof damage which is being repaired at the weekend.
Can anyone give me any tips for repairing the ceiling? Included are some photos of the damage. The ceiling isn't bulging so is it just a matter of applying filler?

Also has anybody got tips for covering the patched area without having to repaint the whole ceiling? The ceiling is huge and 12 feet up so if it's at all possible to avoid repainting the whole lot I'd be willing to try it.

One final question, do I need specialist paint to cover the water stain?

Having had a pip at the pic's the quickest way is to fill the gaps and rub smooth then repaint the affected aerea.

This is easily said than done, you will have difficulty in matching the colour due to the age " effect" of the existing paint, but you can only try.

Also you have to consider the texture and make up of the existing paint to have any success on the colour match.

You will need to use a stain block, or the staining will come through and discolour any new paint you use. You can buy this, although I've had success with using an oil-based white primer.
