Cavity Trays type for Edwardian brick wall

Has anyone found the best solution for installing horizontal cavity trays into an Edwardian brick walled house (to be positioned above windows).
I was hoping to use preformed cavity trays but the perpendicular brick joints are very narrow (4-6mm) & so would not accommodate the 8mm link joints on the trays - also would
need to be bespoke due to extra depth of bricks compared to standard.
Reluctant to use the 'mastic ' type joined trays as higher risk to have successful joins.

Hello Pres, welcome to the forum.

Why do you need to use a cavity tray? Is the wall a cavity wall? Are there no lintels already? Usually there are brick arches or stone or wood lintels. Sometimes there is a brick arch with a lintel above on the inner skin, preserving the attractive exterior. What is the situation you are dealing with please.
