Rainwaterdirect.co.uk seems most prominent on t'interweb. Not wishing that to necessarily be my selection criterion, does anyone have recommendations? Of course, quality and price are equally important... :?

Excellent range and quality, good old-fashioned personal service, and arrives well painted with some sort of epoxy.

Their sand cast range might be more appropriate for your house Paul as the die cast doesn't have the same texture and slight surface imperfections in y opinion.

Another vote for Longbottom, great service, just don't expect an online catalogue or to be able to pay by any other method than a cheque in the post! Give them a call for their catalogue to be posted to you, it is extremely comprehensive.

**Edit** - I eat my words! Clicked on the link above and there is now an option to download their catalogue. Clearly they do move with the times, just very slowly and a good few years behind everyone else! :lol: Great products and service though, can't fault them for that.

Thanks Doug and Feltwell. Funnily, their online catalogue is an old fashioned catalogue scanned onto the t'interweb, without prices, etc. Surely the hallmark of things done the time-tested way as befits a foundry..?

In a local roofing supplier yesterday, newly selling this range:

The samples board looked pretty good. I wouldn't buy them for our 400yo house as they are too machine-made, but might be fine for yours.

I see they have a much larger range of hoppers than Longbottom.
Although from what they say, I would reckon the ex-works painting isn't as good. And I see they supply their stack pipe in bitumen arrrgh.
