Cast iron rads floor loading

We too are feeling a bit stressed and overwhelmed which may explain why my other half is suddenly having a wobble about the cast iron rads we have already installed on the first floor, but not yet filled with water. Two of them stand on new oak plank floors, one spanning across 4 brand new oak joists so hopefully okay, but the other is sitting along the length of one very old oak joist which appears to be in good condition.
Questions are - Are we worrying unnecessarily and how can we reassure ourselves that one won't crash through the floor in the future ? From research made already is expect that max weight of each to be no more than 160 kilos.

So, that's about the weight of two people. And they're near the wall, presumably, not in the middle of the room where the deflection would be at maximum. If your other half is worried about that, better not buy a double bed, especially if you plan to do anything more than just sleep in it.
As for a cast-iron bath, ye gods......

I installed cast-iron rads in our last house, in every room up and down. Some were on the wall, some on the floor. The heaviest upstairs was a 4-column 11-section 30" in the bathroom. Weighed about 165lb. In the sitting room, also on a suspended floor we had two 4-column 16-section 24" end to end, that weighed about 190lb each. All on softwood joists. That was 30 years ago, they were still there when we sold the house in January.

Unless your house has seriously undersized joists or galloping woodworm, no worries.

Those were my first thoughts as well. Not that I have any structural experience, so it's not a qualified opinion, but I rather suspect that floors are generally over-engineered for pretty much anything that could be carried up the stairs and stacked up in the room in question.

You have to ask yourself this , what is worse, A cast iron rad full of water falling on your head or two people tangled up in the throws of passion crashing down through the floorboards? Both will be heavy, they will both be leaking fluids, they will both make a huge mess of the dining room and they will both hurt if they fall on your head.

Edit - unless you are one of the two people , in which case ,if timed right it might be very exciting indeed .

As to the rads weight, as long as the floor is solid there should be nothing to worry about.
