cast iron man hole, drain cover

The drain cover in the basement light well is rusted away and what is left cracked and now has broken into pieces. Mortared down by the previous owner.

I thought finding a reclaimed one shouldn't be too hard but I've been looking all over with no luck. New ones are modern and industrial and will require the replaceemnt of the grate as well, lifting the surrounding bricks yaddah yaddah yaddah.

Anyone have any ideas. I can get someone to make up a replacement in steel I guess, is that my only option?

I had a similar CI cover broken (paved over, car went through it!) & I bought a galvanized steel cover & plastic frame to replace it. I found the new cover fitted the old frame. You may find a new steel cover fits.

I've just replaced the two covers with recessed screw-down covers and dumped the CI frames & 1 remaining cover. It was broken anyway.

PS Just re-read your post. The options seem to be a new galvanized steel cover & (maybe) frame or an inset cover with matching brick infill. The latter would require the existing frame to be broken out and , probably, the level of the brickwork chamber below to be adjusted. Tedious, but unobtrusive. Link below.

Thanks mark for the offer. Though if you did have one I'd be amazed.

Overall the plate was 20.25" x 26.25" in old money and the centre point of the groove that sits in the grate is 19.25" x 25.25". Can't figure out how to attach an image but will see if I can find some help.
