Can I use a steam cleaner to clean an untreated Oak floor?

My friend is lending me a steam cleaner designed for use on carpets and I'm going to have a go using it on my stone floor. Can I also use it on my untreated Oak floor? Or will it make the wood swell or raise the grain? I'm not sure how much steam is used and how much moisture it will leave behind. I'd be grateful for any help on this. Thanks

I wouldn't. We have a few splashes of water on one of our bedroom floors from when the ensuite floor was tiled and it has marked. Hopefully they will come out when the oak floor is completely sanded prior to osmo-ing.
