Hi, I wondered if anyone has sucessfully changed a blue aga into a green on - ie painted it... I hoped Hammerite smooth would be ok, but am not quite brave enough to try it!!!
Stick with your cowardice! Agas are stove enamelled, and I reckon trying to paint over this would be very unwise. Your paint finish (if it survived the heat) would be very vulnerable to scratches, cracks and other general damage. Before long, I reckon your Aga would look a mess.
You could probably get a specialist firm to re-enamel it, but I suspect that one look at the quote would suddenly make your existing colour look much more attractive!
Funny that. Someone asked me that same question about half an hour ago. She wanted to paint her red Aga cream but I think I persuaded her to leave the Aga red and paint the rest of the kitchen instead.
