I'm only posting this because Rebecca's question is in the FAQ Damp thread, and may therefore be overlooked.

She needs to find a proper damp specialist to help her convince her mortgage company that her house doesn't need invasive damp treatment (because it doesn't sound as though there's any damp to treat).

I reckon she should PM Matt Green. He very kindly gives free advice on the forum, but for a proper professional report she would need to commission an expert (like him) directly.

Its a shame people dont seem to grasp the concept of a faq. In time and the message will be buried under so much noise no-one will ever find it.

It looks like it was a mistake in this case, the OP changed the subject but replied to that FAQ rather than start a new thread.

The FAQ thread should ideally have been locked when the initial discussion subsided to prevent that from happening. If we could get an admin to separate page three into a different thread, weed out the chaff on pages 1 and 2 and lock the FAQ, that would be lovely.
