Building of Bath Museum under threat?

I was saddened to hear that this wonderful museum is in serious financial difficultes, and may have to close.

So I urge anyone who has never visited to try to make it before it isn't there to visit. It's about so much more than the building of Bath, there are interesting displays about such esoteric delights as the way sash windows work and types of glass - including cylinder.

The building is a rescued historic one, and its future now looks doubtful also.

That's sad. I went there a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I guess it doesn't appeal to the standard Bath tourist. We'll send a donation.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think that visitor numbers are down for many Bath attractions this year - I gather that floods have put off tourists, even to places totally unaffected!

At least Mr Dyson has been defeated over his ghastly Academy plans, so possibly something better will come for the Newark Works site, but the rest of the Riverside development is looking like a fight will be required to prevent it, as with the Holburne extension (if they appeal..).

Also of course Churchill House was wickedly demolished for the busometer...

Bath is not a happy place at the moment.


So I think a donation will be winging its way from us too, I think it a smashing museum and maybe not enough people have been aware of it.
