Hi there, I am currently buying a house built in 1740 and extended in 1860 and more recently. We had a survey that found a springy floorboard, high ground levels to front and side. Render to the floor at the back and other side and isolated damp patches inside of the oldest part of the buildng, they had replaced one of the rooms with a cement floor, but had to remove due to damp and replace wooden floor. Further to this survey we know have a british timber and damp course contracters findings. There is about £4500 of work including hacking of plaster that is damp and in his opinion a wall plate has gone, hence springy floorboards and damp course injections with adding addition air flow. And we simply lower ground levels ourselves.
The description of the house is tastefully renovated by present owner, in our survey it said they have just replastered over the damp.
Are these injections effective, is this a fair price and will this cure the problem and should a certain amount of damp be expected.
any thoughtd greatly appreciated.
