So, in an effort to get a bit more height in our “to be” utility room, we decided to dig down a little and remove one of the levels of concrete we could see.
In part of the room we’ve uncovered some bricks laid flat that are surrounded by bricks on their sides, not uncovered them all yet but likely rectangular in shape.
Looks to be only one brick deep, with more concrete underneath.
Any ideas what this might be? Is it unusual? Were they just getting rid of some bricks?
Suspect the room was the pantry back in the day.
