Boiler and heating cover with an aga

Hello All,

Just wondered if anyone has a service plan for their heating and water systems.
I have seen a few for oil boilers, but not seen anything that covers aga's.
Is it worth cover for an aga assuming it can be covered?
How much does a service cost on one?

Is it an oil fired Aga? I doubt very much if you could get a plan, bit too specialised really. Vaporising oil appliances are ridiculously simple, none of the fans, pumps and sensors that fail regularly on condensing boilers, in fact there aren't any moving parts except maybe the electric head on the oil metering unit and it'll actually keep going without that (I broke ours attempting to adjust it....). A service for us just involves a decoke and new wicks and costs around about 100 quid.

Does your Aga do the heating then? It must be quite old if so--- as you may have discovered, Aga are in a bit of a pickle at the moment. I belong to the Facebook 'I love my Aga' page and only yesterday somebody posted that their Aga service and insurance appears to be invalid as the Aga dealership from which they purchased the Aga has closed down and the cover is being taken over by another local cooker dealership. In the first instance I suggest that you contact Aga and see if they have any cover to offer you, then trawl the FB page where you will find many ex Aga engineers offering their services, including commissioning, repairing,etc. Good Luck
