we pickup the keys on monday
(HOORAY HURRAY HURRAH!!)
We now have two weeks to get something useful done. we think we're going to start by mending/replace the doors, have a go at removing the tanking, and work on the drains.
the sash windows all need a lot of work, so they will have to wait til next time for a proper sorting.
how do we patch them up in the mean time?
some of the glass is missing. the easy way would be to staple plasitc to the windowframe.
whats the correct way?
some of the glass is dangerously loose. will ductape do? Im not sure it would stay stuck for long. is there anything more solid we can do without much work?
some of the catches "sag" like theyve been forced or the wood is rotted. he wants to replace them as soon as possible as the windows dont stay properly shut. i think it would be better to replace them when we "do the windows" and just use a stick to prop them shut. i can see it turning into a big hassle with much sanding and filler rather then a real five minute job. this isnt so important, but opinions are welcomed! (i dont want this house to turn me into one of them women who throw pots of paint at people!)
