Bluemantle - refurb fireplace

HI Guys,

I usually ask questions, but thought I'd post about a really good experience. I had 2 of my original georgian fireplaces refurbished, including iron grates and hearths. It's a bit hard in central london to find a trusty crew, but came across bluemantle in south london and has been fantastic. I'll post pictures of the before after shortly. I couldn't believe my eyes, it's amazing how layers of paint were removed from the iron grates and then when polished, looks like a 200 year old 'new' item. Interesting how some of the paint was left, so it looks rather charming and not too new. Anyway, if anyone's looking, that's my suggestion.

Looks like they did a nice job with the surround. No wonder you are delighted.

Here are the pics.

They added the missing bars, and sandblasted and then polished them. Replaced the back piece also as it was cracked terribly. I didn't even know there was a brass detail on the front.

They also installed 3 hearth stones (slate) and after the initial hearth installation (2 week gap), they returned and found that all three had cracks. I expressed my concern, etc, and bluemantle immediately removed and re-installed new ones, even after already re-installing my surround on one of them. Really impressive service.

I know I sound like a paid advertiser, but I think it's better to comment on the winners and not only one the losers I have a few of them too
