Hello people. I have another question and would be grateful for people's views. I know that it is generally accepted that lime is best for brickwork on old buildings, but how about blue brick sills?? Surely it would help in this instance if the joints were impermeable, just like a chimney or drain flaunching for example which I believe is usually done in cement. What do people think? I am tempted to go for cement on the rest of the sills I am rebuilding (I have done one with lime, but the sharp sand made getting the joints thin enough difficult and the lime is always getting soaked through) unless there is a really good reason not to!!
