Best treatment for wooden doors

Hi, my yellow pine doors are getting dry. In the past I've used wax. Does anyone know of anything better that will feed them but not darken them at all?

Anything like wax, oil, varnish or whatever is going to have a bit of a darkening effect on the wood - although having said that I'm not sure whether to use the term "darkening" or "richening" the colour.

If they've already been waxed, I should stay with clear wax.

Won't pine eventually darken slightly anyway? I thought that was a natural process as it aged?

If in the past you have used wax to enhance it's natural colour, I suggest you carry on with wax as anything else will refuse to stick to an existing wax layer.

Quite right, but I infer from the OP that this is a pine door with a few years' experience behind it already. So (assuming it's been unpainted) much of the wood darkening caused by resin oxidisation will already have taken place.

I've always regarded it as something of an irony that "dyslexic" is such a difficult word to spell.

But then, one could equally wonder why "monosyllabic" has five syllables, or why there is only one Monopolies Commission.
