Best exterior wood paint

Hello everybody , I’m in a dilemma over what type of paint to use on some white sash windows and the barge boards at the front of the house . I’m currently having a new slate roof installed which wasn’t on the cards …and have got scaffolding up . I know many of you favour Bedec MSP ….but a decorator friend of mine said he wouldn’t use that , only Dulux ultimate opaque for him !! I spoke to the guy in Dulux decorator centre this morning and although they stock Bedec he said they’ve had some people saying it’s had issues ….so who knows ?
I’ve also been looking at Demidekk ultimate , again water based ….and lastly Sadolin super Dec .
This is a scaffold job to get to so I need the longest lasting paint I can possibly get as it’s in an exposed position and gets the weather .
I also hardly dare mention this on here …and believe me it’s caused me sleepless nights but I’ve decided to go over the fascias and soffits with UPVC on the side and rear of the house ….I know you are probably all screaming in horror , but it’s a tall three storey house and scaffolding every 5/7 years is so expensive ….£1500 plus vat ….and it’s too high to hire a tower . I’m keeping the front of the house timber as that can be painted with a tower ….it’s just the very high apex and who really looks up there ?!!!
So I’ve digressed, what votes do we have for what paint and has anybody got experience with the maximum amount of thins they’ve had out of the paint ….I guess it depends on location .

My own experience with MSP has been mixed. The sills at the front of the house started to blister after 3 or 4 years, but the windows round the back have lasted a good 8 or 10 years and are only just starting to get tatty. Its a function of the amount of weather they take. I overlook a sea loch so the front of the house gets absolutely saturated during the winter. Its a lot to ask of a paint system.

I've switched to Demidekk and redone some of the front windows this summer. It inspires more confidence being thicker and covering minor defects more completely than the Bedec. Check back in another 3 or 4 years...

Demidekk ultimate for me. 9 years on and going strong on Victorian South facing sash windows and barge boards. Also doing well on a log cabin (4 years on) that expands/contracts 15mm in 3m height across the season, so pleased with flexibility.
Bear in mind the trades are likely to select based on other factors, such as speed of application, dry time between coats, opacity etc whereas a DIYer is probably optimising for durability. Paint cost is an insignificant part of total life cost.
