Hi all
Has anyone levelled off their suspended floors themselves before?
My bedroom floor is slightly uneven. By “slightly”, I mean that it’s still noticeable and it’s irritating me a bit. It’s about an inch lower on one end. There is no structural issue (the living room floors directly below) are level and so is the ceiling.
I am thinking of levelling them off myself. I plan to do this by raising the floorboards and adding some wood (not sure what yet) to the joist ends where it’s lower, to raise them up until level. I guess it’ll be a bit like doubling up the joists.
Something like this (from 03:43):
My main questions are:
- is this doable? The room is a little over 8metres sq.
- what type of wood do I use for the levelling off?
- anything else I should do/know?
Thank you
