Here's a light-hearted one for those of you with beams. Do any of you amuse yourselves by identifying animal faces in your ancient beams? We have a monkey, sheep and a shark plus the clear outline of a cat. We entertain visitors by pointing them out. So far, everyone has agreed with us (perhaps they're just being polite). I've tried taking photographs but they don't come out very well (or perhaps the beam animals don't like being photographed). Seeing faces in wooden furniture used to freak me out as a child but as our animals look friendly, it's ok. Right, that's enough procrastination, back to marking exam papers...
