Bathroom flooring

Yaaay, at last the bathroom work is to begin!! We had a discussion on here a while back about bathroom floor covering. I think Plastic Pigeon came up with a good solution. I really want traditional blue and white tiles. Any ideas gratefully received!

Hello Jocelyn. I asked exactly the same question, but I don't think I came to any conclusion. I am also in the process of refitting my teeny bathroom, and have gone for a decent vinyl. I was hoping to use floor boards as that is what would originally have been in the room, as there were some left, and wood is nice, but i decided that with a 2 year old we might get quite a lot of splashing at bath time for the forseeable future, so wanted something more waterproof. Thannkfully I found a nice looking faux wood vinyl (by Tarkett) with 6" planks that seemlessly (almost) blends into the hallway flooring!!! I am put off by tiles as if something goes wrong it is so diffucult to pull up the floor to fix something!! I remeber you also saying you don't want a bathroom to look like an undeground station!! Well I have used 6 x 3 tiles, although they are flat faced ones, so I am a litle concerned you will think it metro esque. Hopefully not though. Pictures to follow!!

We had to compromise on our bathroom flooring, as we wanted engineered timber, but had concerns about splashes & spills in what will be the main family bathroom so went for this:

The "click and lock" system is a nightmare, as its super fiddly and very intolerant of even mildly uneven floors but the end results have definitely been worth it.

Just a note on that link, the first two pictures show the wrong product! Look at the 3rd and 4th for more accurate representation.
