Bathroom - finished!

Finally got our bathroom finished - I don't even want to admit to how long it's taken (mostly due to putting off very small finishing touches like filling screw holes etc).

Here's what it looked like when we moved in:



What looks like tiles on the walls is actually wallpaper. Wallpaper covering insanely uneven and patchy plasterboard, which we mostly ripped out. The shower leaked into the porch below because it wasn't sealed (in fact couldn't be properly sealed because of the way it had been installed). All the taps leaked and the loo didn't flush. People were living in this house though - how??

Toilet and basin are from Heritage, but bought second hand on eBay. The towel rail is a vintage eBay find as well. New bath and shower. The flooring is woven vinyl from Unnatural Flooring.

Mirror is another eBay find, we picked up the tiles at an artisan ceramic shop in Portugal.

Yes we did make the panel - trying to decide how best to seal the bottom of it now.

Cowmuck and horsehair seals most things. Or you could use the sort of strip for sealing kitchen plinths.

Now go back with an appropriate brush and sort out the cutting in alongside the RHS of the window!

Ha, it's not actually dodgy cutting in, it's dodgy plasterwork around the architrave. It'll all need re-doing when the window is replaced so we've not bothered to tidy it up for now.

That looks amazing - I'm so jealous! We're going for quite similar looking bathrooms with the nice green and the style of fittings. We started ours in November last year and expect it to take a full year at least, but it's very complicated as it will have wainscotting we're making, secret cupboards and then has needed full rewiring, new lime plaster etc etc

Yours proves it's worth the wait!

Yes we'll silicon either way, just wondering whether a strip of beading or trim will be just the thing or too much...

To me that would look cluttered and take away from the nice panelling.
